Connection between the Analogue & Digital world of a Calendar




Background
This installation deals with the combination between the digital and the analog world from the output of personal data. The project includes a digital interface that takes personal characteristics and creates an individual calendar. These dates are used as points on a paper strip of a music box that will be translated to a melody and visuals. The combination between digital and analog brings a new way for perceiving and understanding everyday used interfaces such as a calendar. Personal data of anyone receives a new interpretation for lifestyle, schedule, events and the outcome based on different data will change from one person to another.




Installation
The installation include a questionnaire system, whose answers translate into dates in the digital calendar. The calendar is printed on paper that match to a music box. The paper will be perforated by the holes that appear on it and will be inserted into the music box that will create an individual melody while the dots appear on the screen. Inside the music box is a camera with lighting, the holes on the paper translate into light, and by “tsps” software becomes a code that can be worked on with graphic elements. This is how the hols are presented by different colours that appear on the screen.
