Creating a system that helps a community manager to encourage collaboration and engagements inside the community




Background
Memeni is a social network for communities. Every community require maintenance and control such as creating new content, encourage engagement, approving/inviting new members, etc. Although each community has a community manager, they did not always know what exactly to do or how.




The Problem
Following the request of various customers, we created new features to increase community engagement and collaboration. However, the percentage of participation did not improve greatly and also the number of posts in different communities.

Research

Stage 1
According to this data, we decided that each community should have a community manager who would be responsible for uploading new content, encouraging engagement, adding/inviting new users, and be in charge of the community managing.

Stage 2
After a few months, there wasn't a big change and the statistics for the engagement of each community were still very low. Following this situation, we started to research in order to find the best solution. We made personal interviews with community managers in order to understand where the difficulty comes from, what are their pain points, and what can help them to manage the community better and increase engagement and collaboration.

Solution
We realized that despite the efforts of the community manager the engagement is still the same. Therefore, and following the interview results, we concluded that there was a need for a community monitoring solution of a system that would guide exactly what tasks need to be done according to the community view.
